[vtkusers] does multiple textures inclued in vtkProperty(vtk 5.x) have anything to do with applying multiple texture on a single actor?

I wonder if you know the purpose of including multiple textures in vtkProperty (in vtk 5.x)? 
Does this have anything to do with applying multiple textures to a single actor?
