<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hello users!!!</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm a student currently doing my final project
on visualization 3D of the brain. </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm trying to
graphically </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>represent the process/ main steps for
transforming 3D DATA in a 2D image.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I followed the ideas developped in the book 'the
visualization toolkit, an object oriented approach to 3D graphics, 3rd edition'
(which is really great source of informations):</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>- visualization techniques = transformation of
3D data in GRAPHICS PRIMITIVES (= graphical data)</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>- </FONT> <FONT face=Arial
size=2>computer graphics = rendering = process of converting graphical data into
an image. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I see two problems:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>* volume rendering techniques transform 3D data
directly to the final image without transformation to an intermediate geometric
representation (graphics primitives)</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>* the representation would imply that we could have
a visualisation algorithm like marching cubes and then a volume rendering
?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Somebody can help me in improving that
representation ? Any ideas ?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Thanks in advance, </FONT></DIV>
