VTK_DATA_ROOT is the name of the directory where the test data for vtk is installed. The test data is distributed separately from the vtk source because it is fairly large and not strictly necessary to use vtk. Download it from:

<br>&gt;<br>&gt;As a simple reference, you can for example display a small<br>&gt;sphere centered at the coordinates of the image origin as<br>&gt;they are reported in the ITK image.<br>&gt;<br>&gt;If you don&#39;t see this sphere in the corner of the image,

<br>&gt;resample an image. You could construct a vtkCylindricalTransform and set it<br>&gt;as the resample your image using the transform.<br>&gt;<br>&gt;Then extract a slice, again using vtkImageReslice. See<br>&gt;SetResliceAxesDirectionCosines. This should produce your cylindrical MPR.
