Summary0011821: (Mars) Prism - autoscaling should differ for multiple surfaces
DescriptionIn prism (both filter and sesame reader), surfaces are rescaled so that they have an aspect ratio of 1:1:1 in the three coordinate directions. This is because the coordinates are thermodynamic variables, rather than e.g. length, and are independent and have different units. For a single surface this seems to work fine. However, when two or more surfaces are shown, they are rescaled independently. As a result, the same coordinates on each surface are not at the same location in the view.
Steps To ReproduceLoad the prism plugin and open a sesame file using the sesame reader (rainbow icon). Open the same sesame file using a second sesame reader. Modify the x-axis threshold (sliders) of the second sesame reader.

The second surface will be rescaled and not correspond to the first surface.
Additional InformationThere are four transformations (for each axis) that the prism filter applies: unit conversion, log scaling, autoscaling, and then user-controlled scaling in the Transform section of the display tab. For multiple surfaces (multiple sesame files) in the same view, the first three transformations should be the same for all the surfaces; i.e. log scaling cannot be applied to one surface but not another.

One way to handle this is in a special prism view. Corey McBride at ElemTech has a prototype but it is not checked into the repository because it would affect the 3.10.0 release.
