Summary0012601: Color range should have an option to update every time step
DescriptionThe color range should have an option to rescale every timestep

Windows, 3.10.1, local server.
Open Can.exo.
Play.
- feature request - We should have an option to update the min and max every timestep. This would be useful if you don't care the size of an event, but where the min and max is.

This is the default behavior for VisIt. Although I don't want this to be the default, it should be available.

Are you looking for a true rescale or just a growing behavior ?

By a true rescale I mean that the min value can increase while moving along the time.

True rescale. The reason is that a user may not care about the range, but is actually looking for areas of change. For instance, in an engine cylinder, you may want to watch the swirl of gasses, colored by pressure. Even though the pressure changes by 10X, you may want each frame to be colored by the full range from this frames min to this frames max.

In other words, if I have three frames as follows:
frame 1 pressure 1 to 1000
frame 2 pressure 10 to 100
frame 3 pressure 50 to 60

I want three frames, as follows:
frame 1 min 1, max 1000
frame 2 min 10, max 100
frame 3 min 50, max 60

Please make this NOT be the default.

Fixed. There's a new option under "Settings" dialog, under Transfer Function Options.
