Summary | 0014874: Volume rendering is broken for fire
Description | We use volume rendering to render fire simulations. One of the "knobs" that we use is Scale. This disappeared in ParaView 4.1.0, and is still missing. * Windows, 4.1.0, local server. * Open disk_out_ref.exo. All vars on. Apply. * Color by Temp. Change surface to Volume. Now, open the Color Map Editor. Note there is no "Scale". Not sure what it did, but we used it for volume rendering. Note that "Scale" is present with 3.98.1. To see how scale is used in detail, see my notes on fire rendering here: http://www.paraview.org/Wiki/Volume_rendering_-_Fire. [^] Ask me if you have any questions.

commit 1d1f28134836eb6e897903df1a442ccc1546e289 Author: Utkarsh Ayachit <utkarsh.ayachit@kitware.com> Date: Fri Jul 18 10:29:08 2014 -0400 BUG 0014874. Bring back "Scalar Opacity Unit Distance". The "Scale" property shown on the old color map editor was really setting the scalar opacity unit distance on the representation. Ensuring that the "Scalar Opacity Unit Distance" property is exposed as an advanced property on the "Properties" panel. Note, it's on the Properties panel and not on the "Color Map Editor" panel. I am pretty sure this is still broken. Follow directions above, then: * Properties tab. Opacity. Move the slider to 0. The volume rendered can should go away. Nothing happens! Opacity doesn't seem to be connected to volume rendered images. |

As stated, this has moved to the Properties tab. Tested local server, master, Linux. |
