DescriptionThere is a DICOM reader in VTK, and users in the past have requested being able to read this type of file. We should support a reader. Attached is an XML plugin that does a reasonable job adding the reader.

 I asked Ken for feedback. When I tried opening a DICOM file from http://www.osirix-viewer.com/datasets/ [^] (ARTIFIX, fourth dataset down on the right side), it failed.

 The DICOM reader in VTK (and hence the one ParaView uses) only supports data stored in the raw format. All the data sets in that link are encoded with JPEG2000, which is not implemented.
