Alan, is this really needed? We use Qt dockwidget for all these panels. It'd be tricky to switch back and forth between using dockwidget and not using the same. |

Utkarsh, this really wouldn't be hard to do. The QDockWidget API lets you turn on and off the ability to move it from one dock location to another. You can still have the option to close the dock widget. I actually think this would be useful because I accidentally move the dock widgets all the time. |

I actually do think that this would have value. It is very frustrating for users that often undock their left hand panels, and don't know how to put them back. |

Merged in master. To test: - launch ParaView - View menu -> Toggle Lock Panels. Panels should not be movable. - Do the above again. Panels should be movable. - Open up settings - General tab, show advanced settings. Check the Lock Panels option. Apply. Panels should not be movable. Uncheck setting. Panels should be movable. |
