Summary0008973: erroneous volume rendering when doing animation
DescriptionHi

When loading a series of pvti files (myfilesI..pvti) - choosing a file in the series - I set up volume rendering of a vector field by first applying the calculator filter (using mag()) and after that choosing 'Volume' as representation on the Display tab. Everything works nicely. But if I start by rendering a frame and afterwards tries with another the second frame is not completely rendered with strange artifacts in the rendered part. If I start by rendering this troublesome frame (eg by saving state, restarting and loading state), the rendering is flawless and just as I would like. This also applies when saving an animation or series of pictures from file > save animation. Ultimately I am not able to do volume rendered animations. I attach screen shots of the correct and the erroneous renderings.

I use the paraview 3.4.0 binary for linux 64bit recently downloaded from paraview's webpage. I have observed exactly the same problem on paraview 3.4.0 for OS X

I have zipped to sets of the data, and it can be downloaded from here (at least for a while): http://www.student.dtu.dk/~jtra/data.zip [^]

The data has been deleted as it took up too much space on the server. It seems I do not have a copy elsewhere. I can make other examples at some point when I complete the projects that for the time being is keeping me occupied (in a month or two). Sorry

Hi. I have uploaded a set of files. There are 16 snapshots in total, some images of the problem and a state file (with the path to the files being pwd). Animating them with volume rendering causes the problem after roughly 10 snapshots:

let me know if it is not all there, it is not enough etc.
again: the files will not stay there indefinitely as they take up about 5GB space.
